I wish I had this book 20 years ago.Back then, when I started studying jazz and improvisation seriously, I had so many questions. I became obsessed with harmony pretty quickly. All the interactions, the "moods", how they make music pull in one direction and then another and how they change music's colour and transform how we listen to melodies.

So much to learn, so much information, so many different opinions on what to learn and how to practice it. What comes first-hand what should be left for later?

I soon found that musicians in general have been really busy creating new ways to use harmony in music, but not really developing a good, solid method to start practicing these things. You know,when you're eager to learn - just you, your instrument and your love of music.

I put all of my "practice knowledge" into this harmony practice guide. The fact is there are very precise and concrete ways to conquer the harmonic language on your instrument. As I like to say:"to put harmony in your ears and fingers, so you only think about music when you play".

This is why I wish I had this book 20 years ago.Every transcription I did, every hour of practice I've done, every conversation I've had, every interview I've read or watched... everything lead to this book. 

I removed every non-optimal practice idea I've encountered. I've combined the best ideas into even better ideas in order to get the best results. On top of it all, I put all the theory knowledge you need to fully understand what you are practicing, why and where you can go from there to develop your own musical language... all of this to make you self-reliant and self-motivated in your musical growth. You will be forever learning from others your entire life, but you are the one who must decide what to do with the things you learn. 

I truly believe this book can be a rock-solid foundation on which you can start to build your musicianship, your language,your voice and most importantly, your art.
