Bio
Sergio R. Klein
Sergio R. Klein is a professional guitar player, in-demand sideman, international performer and instructor, composer, and author currently based in Berlin, Germany.
He began his studies at age seven with classical piano training at the conservatory in his native Chile. He gave his first live performances, including music from J.S.Bach, W.A.Mozart and Ludwig Van Beethoven, when he was just eight years old.
When he was twelve years old he began teaching himself guitar. By the time he was fourteen, he’d committed himself entirely to creating his own sound. By sixteen, he was filling in for his guitar teacher at the local university.
Fast forward to the present, and we find Sergio a fully-endorsed artist with
Aristides Instruments and a member of South American thrash legends, Criminal, signed to Metal Blade Records.
Since joining Criminal, Sergio’s reputation as a player’s player has been steadily rising through a string of arena dates as a headliner, as well as sharing the stage with legends of rock and metal including Judas Priest, Alice in Chains, and Metallica. Despite his busy schedule, he still found time to amass a combined several thousands of views across his Facebook, YouTube and Instagram channels.
Not satisfied to play in a band that can draw crowds of up to several thousands, Sergio has stayed true to his desires to give back to the guitar playing community with the release of his book, How to Master Chord Changes and Harmony in 2016. Abandoning methods based on senseless practice behind, the book is a compendium of the most effective daily practice routines proven throughout decades of musical performance and development and used as a foundation by the masters of music.
2019 will see the release of Sergio’s full online guitar academy, featuring a range of courses covering every aspect of guitar playing, and new music that demonstrates a total command of his musical language. Add to that a growing list of tour dates at arenas across Europe and South America, and we see that his star is taking off in, playing a unique blend of searing metal and modern jazz that has been his signature sound for over a decade
